Session Reviews
Faizah Zulkifli
Damansara, KL
"We came in with two siblings who had not spoken properly in months. By the end of the workshop, we had each said our piece calmly and walked out with the same guide. I did not expect to feel so much lighter. The facilitator was very even — she did not push anyone toward anything."

"The document organisation session was practical and calm. Rajesh helped us go through a pile of papers that had been sitting in a drawer for two years. We now have a proper folder that everyone in the family knows about. My only note is that I wished we had done this sooner."

Cheras, KL
"My mother and I were going through a difficult period after my father passed. We joined the ongoing programme and it gave us a routine — a proper time each fortnight to sit with someone neutral and talk things through. The binder they put together for us is still on the kitchen table."

"I appreciated that they were very clear about what they do and do not do. When questions came up about my father's will, they were honest — they pointed us to a solicitor rather than guessing. That kind of honesty made me trust the rest of what they said in the session."

Priya Chandran
Ampang, KL
"The communication workshop helped my two brothers and me find a way to talk that we had not had for years. It is a small thing — taking turns properly, not interrupting — but it made a real difference. Suraya was patient and the session moved at a gentle pace."

Lee Kok Wai
Mont Kiara, KL
"We did the full ongoing programme over about two months. By the end, we had a shared folder my mother, my sister, and I could all refer to. The check-in calls after each session were useful — Hui Ling always had a clear answer or pointed us in the right direction when she did not."

What Families Worked Through
These are brief, anonymised accounts of how different families used Kinvale sessions during periods of change. Names and identifying details have been changed.
The Challenge
Three adult siblings from KL were managing their elderly mother's household while disagreeing on how decisions should be made. Conversations frequently broke down before reaching a shared understanding.
The Session
The family attended one Communication Workshop and one Document Organisation session over two weeks. The facilitator introduced a structured turn-taking framework and helped the family assemble a shared folder of key household documents.
What Changed
The family reported being able to hold a full household meeting the following month without it ending in frustration. They referred to the folder twice within six weeks — once to locate an insurance document and once to share details with a solicitor.
"We did not solve everything, but we found a way to talk without it becoming an argument. That felt like a big step." — Sibling participant

The Challenge
A couple in their early sixties was beginning to plan for a change in living arrangements. They had not discussed who held which documents, what accounts existed, or how shared responsibilities would shift.
The Session
They enrolled in the Ongoing Programme. Over seven weeks, the facilitator helped them build a comprehensive household binder, practise conversations about shared responsibilities, and identify which professional services they needed to engage.
What Changed
The couple left the programme with a completed binder, a clear referral list for legal and financial matters, and — in their own words — a better shared language for talking about difficult topics.
"Hui Ling was patient and Suraya kept us on track. We left with a folder we actually understand." — Programme participant
